2007 Nuclear Energy made only 14% of the world wide electric energy

after a great(??) growth scenario of perhaps at best doubling by 2030

the real number comes in small (usually forgotten by media..)

From 2007 to 2008 the report says, total global electricity generation rose 4.8% while nuclear power´s share dropped to 14% from a nearly steady rate of 16 - 17 per cent between 1986 and 2005.

ps..
anyone wants to bet that number of kwh from nuclear in 2010
will be higher than 2005 -5%

Our energy analyst, John Busby, while attending the Sixth Annual International Conference in Cork in 2007 of ASPO, the Association for the study of Peak Oil and Gas, was struck by the presentation of Michael Dittmar, a CERN physicist working on the Large Hadron Collider, in which he highlighted the miniscule supply of tritium, one of the essential fuels for the fusion reactor.

forgot to quantify the total kwh (worldwide) from nuclear fission reactors details over the years can be found here the sum is for some unknown reasons only given for 2006 = 2658 TWh and 2007 = 2608 TWh in older versions one finds the 2005 number as well it was: 2626 TWh thus my bet in 2010 less than 2500 TWh will come from nuclear fission! michael

Hi, well, it seems I was too much on the downstream view reality was 2008 = 2601 TWh from nuclear and 2009 = 2560 TWh but the trend did not continue as fast it seems and 2010 is on the track to be between the 2008 and the 2009 results. final numbers will be available in May 2011. michael
