Hundreds of animals were left in their cages without food or medical attention. Dogs and cats died from cancer and starvation.
The President Mr. Trom was also arrested and charged.
If convicted, all face 5 years in prison, a ten thousand dollar fine, and a lifetime ban on owning animals.
This has been hailed as a major victory for all of the animal activists in the Toronto area.
Some of the people involved explained that the president had a 'no kill' policy, but others said that animals were kept in inhumane conditions instead of being euthanised, describing advanced cancer and another illness.
