April Fools and Feeding the Multitude - Debunking the Green Delusion
An examination of the belief in divine GDP growth, and its miraculous origins.
Feeding the Multitude
...is the combined term used to refer to two separate miracles of Jesus in the Gospels. It is one of the most popular Gospel tales.
The First Feeding Miracle, "The Feeding of the 5,000" is the only miracle (apart from the resurrection) which is present in all four canonical Gospels Matthew 14:13-21, Mark 6:31-44, Luke 9:10-17 and John 6:5-15.[1] The second miracle, "The Feeding of the 4,000" is reported by Mark 8:1-9 and Matthew 15:32-39 but not by Luke or John. This miracle is also known as the miracle of the seven loaves and fish.
"...all ate and were satisfied."
Some Definitions (Note that these definitions vary depending on the source)
Humanitarianism:
Concern for human welfare, especially as manifested through philanthropy.
The belief that the sole moral obligation of humankind is the improvement of human welfare.
Theology. The doctrine holding that Jesus was human only and not divine.
Humanitarian principles or practices:
The ethical doctrine that humanity's obligations are concerned wholly with the welfare of the human race.
The doctrine that humankind may become perfect without divine aid.
Conclusions
If Jesus achieved the feeding of the 5000 in this way, it is not something that has ever been repeated. Such divine GDP growth is not achievable by mere mortals.
This definition of Humanitarianism has no coherent or rightful place in a sustainable global ecosystem.
The Green movement is operating under a fundamental conflict of interest in which its ethical doctrine appears to combine "miraculous sustainability", driven by extreme GDP growth, with the view "that humanity's obligations are concerned wholly with the welfare of the human race", and that this can be achieved "without divine aid".
Hence the confused message from the Green movement seems to be that "everyone should have everything" and that the environment should have everything too. It appears that the Greens model themselves on Jesus, as a miraculous saviour of both humanity and the environment - but without divine intervention. So they don't require a realistic plan. They are themselves divine.
Excerpt from Christine Milne's speech to the National Press Club, April 1, 2014
"Why the Greens, and not Labor or any of the other micro parties? Three reasons:
- The Greens are a party with a full suite of economically credible, costed policies. We're not in it to repeal economic policies for our own personal financial benefit or who knows what.
- Our agendas and values are clear and voters can trust us to stand by them.
- Our holistic vision for a caring nation supported by a healthy environment in a rapidly warming world is one that will make Australians lives easier, not harder."
Debunking this rhetoric:
- The Greens fully support extreme population growth in an Australian carbon-based society, supported by mass migration of relatively wealthy opportunists, which destroys Australia's environment, cripples its economy and is both domestically and globally inhumane. See this link: Proof of Australia’s crimes against humanity? See also this link: Proof of Australia’s economic decline exacerbated by the extreme population growth supported by all major parties; including the Greens?
- So how is Australia supposed to be globally humane if it wrecks its own environment and can no longer afford to provide foreign aid?
- The Green agendas and values are confused by a "loaves and fishes" mentality without a viable strategy.
- The holistic vision is one combining dedicated humanitarianism, which means "the ethical doctrine that humanity's obligations are concerned wholly with the welfare of the human race", with environmentalism and "making Australian lives easier" (back to the "loaves and fishes" mentality). This is just the kind of fairy tale that appeals to young idealists searching for a noble cause. Let's cure the world of all know diseases (Monty Python) without having any strategy for even cleaning up our own mess. We Greens believe in divine, and extreme, GDP growth. We are not Deniers; we are Believers.
(Extreme population growth has contributed to extreme growth in the Government's annual Budget expenditure, which has grown at a compound rate of 6-8% per capita for the last decade (2002 to 2012) while growth in GDP per capita compounded at less than 1% per annum. Population grew by 18%, or 3.5 million, over that short time. Doesn't all of this look inhumane and unsustainable to any reasonable human being? So does this mean Greens are not reasonable human beings?) 67% of total tax revenue comes from the people. Should tax be increased at a compound rate of 8% per annum indefinitely to support an unsustainable economic model?
