On 22 August, Riyad Mansour (pictured), the Permanent Observer of the State of Palestine to the United Nations spoke to the United Nations security. In that meeting, Riyad called upon all the Ambassadors to the Security Council to come with him to Gaza to see for themselves how Israel is destroying the housing, hospitals, schools and other infrastructure of Gaza, whilst killing, by one more conservative estimate, more than 40,000 unarmed Palestinian civilians, so far.

The supposed response by the US and UK ambassadors is in the 14 minute video labeled "America’s veto woman repeats Antony Blinken’s pledge to defend Israel in UN" which is 14 minutes long.

This video is included to show how the United States and its allies attempt to address very few of the points raised by Riyad Mansour. Much of US UN ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield's talk relies on the lie that on 7 October Hamas fighters deliberately murdered hundreds of Israeli civilians on 7 October 2023. In fact, the Hamas fighters tried to keep alive their captives in order to be able to exchange them for thousands of Palestinian hostages, who have been arbitrarily detained and tortured by the Israeli regime. Most of the hundreds of Israeli civilians killed on that day, were killed by Israeli troops under orders to kill all Hamas fighters regardless of the consequences for their captives. Few, if any, Israeli civilians were deliberately murdered by Hamas fighters on that day. This killing of Israeli captives by Israelis was putting into effect the "Hannibal Directive" which disallows the capture of any Israelis by the enemy.

Unfortunately, many supporters of Palestine, including even some of those who spoke so articulately and passionately against the Gaza genocide in the above video, have condemned Hamas for the October 7 killings or, at best, have not challenged this lie.
