Yesterday I became aware of the terrifying circumstance where the Nordstream1 and Nordstream2 pipelines have been sabotaged by huge explosions, soon after the time when US helicopters were reportedly in the area.[1]
Far more terrifying than these explosions were the manipulative theories immediately concocted about them in the western mainstream media, which suggested that Russia would have done this to its own pipelines in order to dramatically cut off any future supply to Europe. Since Russia could simply turn off taps at its end of the pipeline, this suggestion is ridiculous, and it can only have the nefarious purpose of further confusing those who can find no other narrative than that provided them via western state and commercial news outlets, with the continually surprising exception of Murdoch’s star reporter on Fox News, Tucker Carlson. (See https://candobetter.net/admin/blog/6451/tucker-carlson-reminds-us-biden-and-nuland-implied-will-destroy-nordstream2.)
President Biden and Victoria Nuland have both hinted darkly that they would make the Nordstream Pipelines a target if Russia crossed the border into Ukraine. Both these people, and others like John Kerry, have been deeply involved in political and commercial interference in Ukraine since 2014, and the regime-change at the origin of the bombing and persecution by Ukraine of Ukrainian separatists. Nuland’s activities have been extensively documented on film (now censored in Australia)[2] and Biden’s involvement (for instance in pressuring President Poroshenko to get rid of a prosecutor who was pursuing Zelenksky's criminal billionaire backer because this threatened Biden gas investments in Ukraine) has been deeply documented in Miranda Devine’s The Laptop from Hell.[3] Nuland and Biden both seem like sociopaths. Nuland defines her political existence via a cold-war narrative.[4] Biden’s dementia makes him highly suggestible and his criminal record makes him an absolute patsy for blackmail.
The failure of the Western media to bring to the foreground of its reporting the role of the United States regime-change in the civil war in the Donbass separatist movement amounts to a war-crime. Most Western news outlets did carry stories from around 2014 about this, but they have denied their own reports in their concocted reporting of Russia’s motives for helping Donbass. By leaving these crucial facts out, the western newsmedia has allowed the United States to bring us to the brink of nuclear war. And they are still not calling out the US and sounding the alert! No, they are amplifying the lies that got us to this point.
The reason that Australians and many other westerners buy western mainstream war-stories is that censorship has denied them any other source of information. Although we all do have a brain between our ears and an entire internet of information at our fingertips and we should use them, as Caitlin Johnson recently wrote, (https://johnmenadue.com/caitlin-johnstone-its-not-okay-for-grown-adults-to-say-the-ukraine-invasion-was-unprovoked/, Pearls and Irritations, Sep 23, 2022), there are reasons that we don’t.
Australians, and most westerners accept what is handed out to them as the truth by designated leaders. This is packaged by commercially licensed entities that control both hardware and software. For instance, ‘smart tvs’ tend only to be license for traditional western news outlets, internet browsers block you from looking at internet carriers of alternative news. Thus Edge browser tries to stop me from looking at The Duran on Rumble.com (which is an alternative to youtube) and all my browsers deny me access to live news reports from rt.com (the Russian newsite) unless I use a VPN that locates me well outside the control of the western media sphere. Rt.com is the essential source of opinions from the other side in this war and it is running continuous documentaries on Donbass from 2014 to now. Why would anyone deny the public access to know what the other side is saying? There is no western source for this.
Australian education has been dumbed down over decades now, so children and 30 and 40-somethings generally don’t know the history of war. The mainstream western news stopped covering anti-war protests after the Iraq invasion (marking the last huge anti-war protests), so the anti-war movement, although it exists, is practically invisible for most people in the west. Politics, both domestic and international are purposefully made both boring and mysterious by the mainstream. The technique for war propaganda is to distort the truth and make it so complicated that people question their own judgement and just accept what they are told. Although it rarely makes sense, they assume that is because of their own intellectual limitations.
Reporting on the destruction of the Nordstream Pipelines is done in this way. Where the United States has made threats against the pipeline and obviously has the most to gain by its destruction, whether carried out by its European vassals or its own militias, the public are told that it was probably done by Russia to itself.
This is gaslighting, and it is no wonder so many feel powerless and either look away or stay on the war-wagon juggernaut, hoping that Biden and his team are acting responsibly, which they obviously aren't.
At this stage we don’t know who is responsible for the Nordstream pipelines sabotage, but we should all be aware of who is most motivated, and that is not Russia.
In the meantime, Russia has called for an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council. (The UN will cover this live and recordings and summaries will be available. You can watch for its scheduling and view it at https://media.un.org/en/webtv/schedule/ for the schedule and https://media.un.org/en/webtv) Although this is about the only organ now available to the world where we can all hear what everyone involved says, unfortunately the US and EU spokespeople have consistently abuse this platform in order to further confuse the situation. This will not, however, prevent Russia from having its say. Note that the United States has been making efforts to revoke Russia's membership of the UN Security Council. If this happens, we will truly be in the dark.
Pres. Biden: "If Russia invades...then there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it."
Reporter: "But how will you do that, exactly, since...the project is in Germany's control?"
Biden: "I promise you, we will be able to do that." https://t.co/uruQ4F4zM9 pic.twitter.com/4ksDaaU0YC

NOTES
[1] "US Air Force helicopters conducted a series of sorties in the area where the Nord Stream explosion and the mysterious gas leak occurred just days ago, much ahead of the accident that Europe claims may have been a 'sabotage', Oleg Makarov, military and defence analyst and co-founder of Vatfor claimed on Tuesday. The trajectory of the flight of the American helicopters with the call sign 'FFAB123' coincided with the site in the Baltic Sea where the major gas leaks subsequently took place on the Nord Stream pipelines to Europe via the Baltic region, Makarov said on Telegram."
